English localization
This page discusses the English localization of Metal Cardbot, which aims to bring the series to English-speaking countries such as Southeast Asia, the Americas, and Europe. While the companies in charge of localization have changed over time, it is often cited for having numerous errors and reduced quality compared to the Korean version.
While many regions received the show in English, this page primarily focuses on the United States localization under Agabyss.

Agabyss Wave 1
In early 2025, American toy distributor Agabyss was looking to bring certain Metal Cardbot toys to the United States for distribution at BotCon, a Transformers convention that had recently been acquired by Agabyss. Incidentally, SAMG was also looking for an American distributor, leading to the two companies signing a partnership to distribute Metal Cardbot toys in the United States. Creative & Operations Manager Jesse Wittnoto put in charge being the liaison between Agabyss and SAMG.4
At the New York Toy Fair on March 1, 2025, Agabyss announced that the first season and its toys was coming to the United States in late 2025.5 Notably, Blue Cop was renamed to “Blue Cobalt” and Black Hook to “Steel Hook”.6
Despite Agabyss’s intentions to create a new English dub for a United States release using the new names, budget and time constraints led to the Central Entertainment dub being used with no changes. The dub was shown off at BotCon ‘25 on June 13, 2025, where additional name changes were made (Mega Trucker to “Mech Tackle”, Buster Gallon to “Bluster Gale”, and “Blue Cobalt” to “Blue Star”).7
The official English Metal Cardbot YouTube channel, @metalrcardbotTV_eng ↗(sic), was created on June 19, 2025. Episodes of the first season’s English dub began uploading weekly on June 27, 2025. The show was also be made available for purchase on Amazon Prime Video in late July for $24.99.
The BotCon Twitter account ↗ was used for providing Metal Cardbot updates, along with an official Facebook page that created on September 24, 2025. An official Metal Cardbot US Twitter account ↗ was created March 30, 2026.8
The first wave of toys was made available for preorder on Agabyss’s official website on October 7 at 1 PM EST, with an estimated shipping date of early 2026.9 A bonus was provided for ordering the entire wave at $212.95 ($0.25 more than ordering the wave individually), though details about the bonus were not announced until April 10.10

Preorders began shipping in late March 2026, with individual orders shipped on March 18 and bundle orders being shipped on March 25.11 The bundle orders included two bonus items: a sticker sheet for changing the eyes of the Cardbots’ vehicle modes, and a limited edition metal card with the same design as the cards used in the show.
Agabyss staff have claimed that the first wave of preorders “went really well”.12
Agabyss Wave 2
Wave 2 preorders were announced on May 27, 2026,13 with preorders beginning the following day.14 Notably, Wild Guardy was cut from Wave 2 compared to their catalog at New York Toy Fair on February 15, 2026.15
The wave is expected to ship in September 2026, with the toys being sold individually or as a bundle for $129.95 ($143.95 after introductory pricing). The bundle contains similar bonuses to Wave 1, with a Metal Card and stickers for each Cardbot included.
Toy prices
The toys of Season 1 Wave 1 were announced at BotCon 2025, which were later raised with the announcement of pre-orders. These toys were also made available at Big Bad Toy Store (BBTS), though at a significant markup.
For Wave 2, only Fleta Z’s price was revealed at the 2026 New York Toy Fair.15 In the Wave 2 announcement, Agabyss also announced that the original prices were “introductory prices” and raised the prices of Wave 1 to “normal retail prices” on May 28, 2026.
The list of prices is below. Items marked with ”?” have not been revealed by BBTS, though markups for these toys are likely.

Metal Cardbot S
The dub of Metal Cardbot S is currently in development by a Canadian studio.16 Some fans speculate it may be Super Sonics, who previously dubbed the most recent season of Catch! Teenieping.17

↩ ↩2 ↩3METAL CARDBOT! Agabyss didn’t have a booth this year, but they did invite me to come see samples.
series 1 preorders are expected to arrive in March. series 1.5 is hitting in the summer, and series 2 is launching in fall

↩they also told me season 2’s dub is coming in summer and that there is a new studio, didn’t tell me who, just that it is a Canadian studio
-
↩It’s probably Super Sonics in Toronto. They did the most recent season of Teenieping for SAMG. Their Asian animation dubs tend to be non-union with no credited cast. Non-union Toronto VAs aren’t a known quantity, so the cast might be a mystery even after release.
