Metal Cardbot W, also known as Metal Cardbot Wild, is the third season of Metal Cardbot. On EBS, it is referred to with the tagline “메탈카드봇W 강철의 포효”, or Metal Cardbot W: Roar of Steel. It began premiering on EBS1 on December 4, 2025, with new episodes premiering weekly on Thursdays at 7:45 AM KST.¹ It is the last of two seasons to be greenlit during the production of Season 1.²

The season takes a focus on animal transformations, giving Cardbots “wild” forms with animal abilities.

Synopsis

After the Speranza incident, humans and Metal Cardbots began to coexist on Earth. Jun, a boy chosen by the Metal Breath, and his partner Blue Cop find a way for humans and Metal Cardbots to live together.

Then one day, a “Wild Cardbot” appears, harboring an ancient secret. Now, a new encounter begins to shake the world.³

Development

A constant struggle expressed by the director is incorporating the increasingly growing list of characters; many flashbacks featured in episodes of Metal Cardbot W are “untold stories from Metal Cardbot S”.⁴

Weibo leak

On October 8, 2025, a large amount of Metal Cardbot renders, including those from Metal Cardbot W, Metal Cardbot: Zerg Crisis, and Metal Cardbot S, were leaked by an account on Weibo. Official statements were put out by both SAMG Entertainment and Metal Cardbot’s Chinese distributor JUMPGO condemning the leak, with JUMPGO claiming that the leaker forged contract signatures and collected fraudulent payments.⁵⁶

The leaked images included several unannounced characters from the show, including Solidhorn, Tachy, and Grand Blue Leon.

• At some point between Season 2 and Season 3, ownership of the Metal Cardbot IP was transferred from SAMG/EBS/Navy to SAMG/EBS/OSRO.⁷
