Blue Cop is the secondary protagonist of Metal Cardbot, who fights alongside Jun to keep the peace between the Metal Cardbots and humans. He transforms into Ultimate Blue Cop in S1E26, The Final Battle, granting him new abilities.
Blue Cop’s name was changed to “Blue Star” during American localization.1 An earlier name for him was also “Blue Cobalt”.2
Backstory
Blue Cop was a well-known Star Guardian on planet Machina, one of many tasked with protecting the Mother Computer, Deus Machina.3 He was known to have at least one superior, Flame Nova.4
As one of the few who were warned about the impending destruction of his home planet, Deus Machina entrusted Blue Cop with a Metal Breath, and a final task: to use the Metal Breath to find a friend.5 Blue Cop took to an escape pod, joining the mass exodus from his home and was left to travel through space for thousands of years before eventually finding his way to planet Earth.
On Earth, he desired to help other Metal Cardbots hiding out on Earth so they did not alarm the natives, learning as much about the planet and its inhabitants as he could in the process.6 He becomes close friends with Jun Grant, who commands him with the Metal Breath to fight and capture other Metal Cardbots.

Justice Gauntlet (저스티스 건틀렛)

Metal Card

Weapon Card
A large translucent blue gauntlet that mounts on Blue Cop’s right arm with a double-barreled gun on the forearm.
- Thunderbolt Smash (썬더 볼트 스매쉬): Blue Cop jumps in the air and punches using electric energy.
- Burst Shot (버스트 샷): Blue Cop deploys the double-barreled gun from the Justice Gauntlet and fires.
- ⭐ Mega Bolt Punch (메가 볼트 펀치, Mega Bolteu Peonchi): Blue Cop’s main ultimate skill; he gathers electricity in his Justice Gauntlet and unleashes a powerful energy punch, stunning the opponent.
- ⭐ Infinity Force Break (인피니티 포스 브레이크): Blue Cop’s ultimate skill discovered in S1E12, Blue Cop's Special Training!. By uniting with Jun on a deeper level, Blue Cop throws multiple energy punches in rapid succession. It is notably much stronger than Mega Bolt Punch.
- ⭐ Infinity Force Mega Bolt Punch (인피니티 포스 메가 볼트 펀치): Blue Cop’s final technique used right after reverting to his normal form from his Ultimate form in S1E26, The Final Battle. After gathering electric energy in the Justice Gauntlet, he charges forward and delivers a powerful punch, at the cost of destroying his Justice Gauntlet.
Ultimate Armor (얼티밋 아머)

Parts of the Ultimate Armor shown in S1E26
A special Weapon Card that combines the powers of all captured Metal Cardbots to create Ultimate Blue Cop. It consists of large, translucent armor colored in green, red, blue, and purple.
- Edge Acceleration (엣지 엑셀레이션): The wheels on Ultimate Blue Cop’s boot armor allows him high speeds and manouverability.
- Lightning Overstrike (라이트닝 오버 스트라이크): Ultimate Blue Cop restrains an opponent with lightning energy, delivering a barrage of punches before finishing with one powerful punch.
- ⭐ Infinite Punish (인피니트 퍼니쉬): Ultimate Blue Cop’s ultimate skill. Energy from all four parts of the Ultimate Armor are combined into one powerful beam.
Alongside special moves, Ultimate Blue Cop can use all of the special moves of the captured Metal Cardbots.

Early designs for Blue Cop and Mega Trucker7
Blue Cop was one of the first Metal Cardbots to be designed, informing the design and features of future Cardbots.8 As such, director Seoro Oh had a lot of say in how Blue Cop looked, particularly in the design of his head. There was a time early in development where Oh wanted to pursue a more cartoonish, 2D approach, before settling on the final proportions.7
Given the lack of production time, Oh was only allowed to fully redesign the heads of the Metal Cardbots, giving them common features such as expressive eyes and a mouthless mask.9

Early head designs9
During development, Oh retouched base model renders to give modellers a sense for how his expressions should be shown:

Trivia
- Blue Cop’s original name was “Silver Bullet”.15
- Director Seoro Oh finds Blue Cop the most fun Cardbot to torment.16
- Blue Cop’s hat can be removed.17 This was later shown in a flashback during S2E3, Menace Up in the Sky!, of which his head is much more blue.
