Mystery of the Police Car Robot!
Mystery of the Police Car Robot! is the first episode of Metal Cardbot. It is the first appearance of Blue Cop and Mega Trucker, and also introduces the setting and human characters of the series.
Plot
At Edo‘s repair shop, a boy known as Jun practices tricks on his BMX. He begins to leave for school when suddenly Mega Trucker breaks into the junkyard, followed closely by Blue Cop. The two fight with Jun caught in the crossfire, causing Jun’s BMX to get damaged. Mega Trucker eventually flees with Blue Cop following, leaving Jun to notice the Metal Breath that was left behind.
At school, Jun tells his friends about the robots, but nobody believes him except Teo. The two return to the repair shop to investigate, where Edo is talking to the police. They check the CCTV footage, but it does not capture the incident. However, when shown the Metal Breath, only Jun is able to pick it up.
Jun and Teo look for Mega Trucker, but cannot find him anywhere. They are about to give up when they find Anna being harassed by Vans and Lavi. Jun distracts them to impress Anna, causing them to give chase and corner him over a bridge, taking his belongings. Jun lunges to grab his Metal Breath, when suddenly it activates, wrapping itself around his arm. Blue Cop suddenly appears and grabs Jun, driving away with him. Vans tells Lavi not to tell anyone about it, for fear of looking stupid.
Blue Cop tells Jun about how his home planet Machina exploded, causing him to live on Earth and disguise as a police car to avoid alarming the humans. He discusses he only wants peace between Metal Cardbots and Humans, but other Metal Cardbots have not adjusted to life on Earth. As the Metal Breath chose Jun, Blue Cop asks him for his help; Jun agrees, under the condition that Blue Cop compensates him for his broken bike.
Trivia
- On January 20, 2025, the episode’s upload on the Korean metalcardbotTV YouTube channel ↗ was given an English audio track using YouTube’s Audio Tracks feature.1 At the time of writing, it is the only episode to be given this treatment, predating the creation of the official English YouTube channel by around 6 months.
Footnotes

↩Additionally, SAMG has begun adding English dubbing to the first season, which will automatically be selected when you play the videos. I’m investigating this, but for now you need to manually change it back to Korean in Settings > Audio Tracks. I apologize for the inconvenience!
